Project: Restoration, Renovations and Improvements
Location: 1 West 29th Street, New York Services Performed: Project Manager Architect: Helpern Architects This multi-phased project consisted of restoration of roof and new structural support of the existing roof, as well as restoration of the decorative plaster ceiling, new slate shingles. We installed new steel trusses alongside the original wood trusses, which now support the original wood purlins and roof decking. New vertical transportation was added significant reconfiguration of the concourse program spaces, including chapel, organ room, meeting rooms and community spaces. The Marble Collegiate Church, which was built in 1854, is a significant NYC individual landmark building. SHA prepared and managed the logistics plan throughout the project, while keeping all church functions fully operational. |
