Part of the Solution (POTS)

Project: POTS Soup Kitchen Renovation
Location: Bronx, New York
Services Performed: Project Manager
Architect: Spacesmith, LLP

On January 6, 1982 Part of the Solution (POTS) opened its doors as one of the first soup kitchens in the Bronx. Since that time, the organization's mission has expanded from feeding its neighbors to nourishing the needs of its community. POTS is now a multi-service agency that addresses clients' most immediate, basic needs and helps them to take the next steps to improve and stabilize their lives.
The current 5,000 sq ft facility became too small to maintain a focus on the integrity needed for the POTS community.

A new 15,000 sq ft building, adjacent to the current facility, was renovated to enable POTS to triple its programming and storage space, serve more people, and offer a broader array of service to its community, including a medical clinic, dental clinic and justice center.
